For the current Riven Bonds league, Cygnar’s Hero model is the Gun Mage Captain Adept. He rarely sees the table, I think I’ve played him once ever. But with the league promising crazy bonuses like Weapon Master and +2 RNG, I was all in.
The sculpt feels very old, like the original pCaine where the guns are too big and the proportions of the whole model seem incongruous. I decided to make what little improvements I could by sculpting on a jacket fringe like eCaine and the other Gun Mages all have.

And then I added a pocket like eCaine has (thanks to a quick green stuff pocket making tutorial from my first Lock & Load).

With my modifications complete nothing left but to paint him to match all my other gun mages.

Toward the end I decided he was missing some Cygnus yellow and so I free-handed on a yellow fringe to the blue top portion of his jacket. I contemplated doing a Cygnus across his back on the blue coat, but with all the folds and the strap I wasn’t sure it would be recognizable.
